I like the bismuth formulas because they seem to work even if you mess
them up slightly. You can roll them in green meal and they will pop
reliably. My favorite formula (for either bismuth subcarbonate or
bismuth trioxide) is:
bismuth trioxide 37.5%
copper(II) oxide 37.5%
magnalium 25%
Bind with very thick slurry of NC (15% or so) - don't ****rk on the NC,
make it thick and creamy, dry until it can be rolled between two
popsicle sticks (ice cream treat sticks), use plastic wrap to protect
your roller - which can be a spare rocket tube -, cut, dry, break
apart, and roll with green meal while lightly spritzing with water.
PS: Double base or single base smokeless, or pure NC that has been
dissolved in acetone is what you have to use. Don't use ping pong ball
mixes or hardware store lacquer paint.
