I am not so sure of that. Guilty or innocent, our keepers of the law
need to protect their jobs.
You see, if they do not make arrests and prosecute there is no reason
for their existence.
They are like parasites protecting self interests and the public from
harming themselves.
The more arrests they make, the more work there is for our public
servants.
Thus justifying more funding etc...
