Although it does burn, it burns to slow to use as a rocket fuel..
However...
Used in a star composition, it seems to work fairly well..
Made up some Zinc star composition using flour based rather than charcoal
based, what, white poweder(?) and the stars burn extremely long..
I initally had trouble with igniting the stars, but found out that the
NC/bp prime was not fully dry. When dry, the stars light just fine.
I do not build "big" shells, mostly just rocket headers.. I would love,
however, to see a 4" shell loaded with 1/4 by 1/4 inch flour stars..
Talk about filling the sky with fire.... a 1/4 by 3/8ths extruded star
burns for about 4 seconds..... Imagine how many of them you could pack
into
a 4 incher.....
Putt...
