rocket motor stuck on spindle...

Hi, I've got a problem.  I have the Wolter tooling for 3 and 6 pound
whistle rockets.  The tubes get stuck on the spindles, very
frustrating.  I am using a brand new six pound set, so nothing is
bent, but the rocket engine feels like it is welded to the spindle!  I
am resorting to drilling a hole through the TOP of the engine (no
fuel) and trying the "stuck oil filter" method with a screwdriver (I
am wearing a full-face helmet, eye/ear protection, heavy clothes and
gloves)  How do I prevent this from happening again?  I tried lubing
the spindle, perhaps graphite?  Seems this should not happen in the
first place with quality tools and tubes.  Dan
