I would avoid use of the word inhibitor (or inhibator <g>) because it has 
specific meaning pertaining to surface treatment of rocket and gerb fuel 
grains to prevent flame spread to certain areas.  We have two models of 
gerbs the grains of which receive an inhibitor coating.
