I think the hilarity being referred to was the urban legend about the
retriever fetching a stick of dynamite and sinking a Jeep. I am
guessing that since the story is said to have taken place in
Michigan, the thought of damaging coral reefs may not have crossed
their minds.
But yeah, those rotten jerks in the Philippines should stop that.
