Well first you would get a better quality match pipe; the adhesive bond
would more secure because you're gluing on a flat surface. The match pipe
can be inspected separately before use.
You can use the empty match pipe as a gage to measure the distance between
ignition points.
The black match can easily be replaced from match pipe made to uniform
internal and external dimensions.
