confinement flash -video

Surely the word confinement has had plenty of heated discussions when
doing a search on the group with the word.. as far as spiking and
pasting methods to obtain optimum reports ...I was just curious what
this was all about..

I remember reading on a so called "dark flash" that was 50/50 chlorate/
antimony

I also remember reading about adding antimony to flash mixes to
increase sensitivity.. but never tried it.. do to the numbers not
adding up to me.. the dark flash I made when ignited under flame
wasn't much of anything.. but I'm not worried about it.. doubt I will
ever use it.. another thing I was curious about as far as flash was a
comp I seen stating a Al and Barium Sulfate mix solely that was
supposed to be very fast and make a great report.. maybe my mixing
methods screening and what not?


If someone could figure these numbers for me and match them to the
actually composition.. it just seemed a bit confusing probably because
I didn't read it over 20 times.. but this is kind of a double post..
this other part I was curious about is these salutes I made with a
tube with an ID of 2 inches witch isn't to far off from a 3"
designated spiral wrapped can correct? according to FF's paper
products.. I currently have one salute and another that is 7:3
3micron.. and the one in my video is based on Shimizu perchlorate/Al/S
stating it's loudest report obtainable with such mix..

My assembly is ok I'm hoping.. I probably need to do some horizontal
spiking too I assume.. I basically spiked it bare vertical.. made a
wrap spiked the gaps of previous and wrapped again.. my report was
best I've had yet with any shell.. It seems I get more of a "boom"
with that mix than 7:3 3 or 8mic ...currently I have shot the one off
in the video and I need to light the other which is 7:3 3mic I don't
like to have salutes sitting around.. it's just vertically spiked like
the current.. but before I start another spiking it up and what not..
I wanted the opinion if there's room for more adequate confinement..
to achieve a better report... basically a "boom" opposed to a "crack"
when I was doing experiments with 1.75 plastic cans.. the pitch of the
shimizu mix was better than 7:3.. but in such can I used no more than
5 grams.. some way less.. so maybe that played a roll... I guess most
of all I'll learn from experience.. I was just curious if I should put
more work into my shell...

only time I get to set one off is out in the other property so I
didn't want to waist my time or have three or more salutes sitting
around waiting to be lit.. with different properties and confinement..
so most of all I'll see how the 7:3 does soon.. maybe yeild better
than the shimizu based stuff providing confinement is well enough..
