The Journal of Pyrotechnics has several articles on whistle and its
properties. They are not 'how-tos' or cook books... Visit their site
at www.jpyro.com - it is a slow site sometimes.
Here is an open whistle test. The confinement was a baggy but that was
just to keep the mixture from blowing away in the wind. The KCLO4 was
the domestic stuff sold by Firefox. It has lots of impurities and
usually makes a very inferior whistle.
