Any alternate names for whistle mix? Because it doesnt whistle the way
i use it. In fact its totally different loose. The amounts used in
pyrotechnics are quite safe, I dont know many people trying to make
massive whistle rockets, I wouldnt light one lol. The stuff behaves
differently when used in amounts over what is needed for any
pyrotechnic device which are all small/safe amounts. Ive heard large
unconfined amounts become quite energetic, brissant and loud, its cool
that such an energtic mix can turn into a whistling propellent when
pressed into a tube. For the loose fine powder I would call it KClO4/
benzo burst or just benzo burst. We have benzolift which is whistle
mix toned down a bit with green mix, since lift is usually less
energetic than the burst, that seems like a good name. Yeah I know the
name will never change, I just find what i use for burst in small
shells being called whistle quite funny. If there are alternate names
for the loose powder, I would like to know bc im trying to search
archives and do some research, not just here but im searching a lot of
places. The compound intrigues me as it behaves in many differnt ways
depending on quality, compression, quantity, airspace in shell. Ive
never made anything bigger than a small whistling bottlerocket bc im
afraid to light anything bigger or compress it to the whistle form.
Anybody have any good books or articles i can find online about
atmospheric burn rate of fast loose whistle and other properties that
I mentioned above?
