Have you double-checked the voltage rating on the lamps since they
started blowing?  A theatre I work in started using FLK's a few years
back, not realizing that they were all rated for 115v instead of
120v.  Dimmer check was bad enough, but bringing up a wash of
something to Full was like watching fireworks. It didn't help that our
line voltage was averaging 124v, as we were the first customer off our
feed from the power company.  I started doing dimmer check at 80%, as
well as profiling the dimmer racks down a bit.  (Fortunately, they no
longer use FLKs)

This brings up one other possibility: your line voltage may have
increased in the last few years.  Have you checked it lately?
