Good point, and I don't think he said. I was raised in a hemp house
complete w/knuckle busters, sand bags, etc. Everything had to be done
with one hand because the other hand was otherwise occupied
controlling the batten. A prusik knot around a three line set held
everything together and gave a place to tie off to. The same knot
offered an extra purchase point if extra weight was needed (like a
foot or something). Learning that knot gave me confidence to use it
climbing with only shoe laces as cord. Saved my sorry ass a couple of
times, but most im****tantly, it relieved my work load while rigging.
the best part is being able to slide it up the rope when necessary.
Plus it's a lot cheaper than those mechanical ascenders. Plenty of
info on the knot on the web.
Try it on a job and you'll understand!
Lloyd
