Martin sux. Try High End. Moving heads have more to go wrong
with their pan and tilt--much more--and they're slower. People like
moving heads for the R2D2 effect, but for efficiency the moving
mirrors are better. The moving heads have a greater range of
motion and the R2D2 thing, but other than that you're better off
with the faster less problematic moving mirrors. Avoid Martin. An
LD I know said he had problems with fixtures not hitting the same
spot, but he said it was a problem with Martin fixtures, not
specifically moving mirrors. He had 500s and 918s. His experience
and mine has been that the 918s are more dependable in general,
but there are better things available. High End has better gobos.
Do a comparison for yourself.
