He should also build an effective escape into the set so the 
actor can disappear quickly; I did this years ago for DRACULA; 
the wall looked solid.  In fact, the back wall wasn't a solid run 
but two overlapping walls spaced two feet apart in paralell.  We 
disguised the edge of the overlap with a column, which held up a 
dimensional header.  Sightlines are critical to the effect.
