And much less so....
1) Bolted into a metal rack.
2) Close to other metalic objects which affect reception
at short wavelengths.
3) At 90 degrees to the transmitter
4) In annother room (albeit one with a ~large window
but not in direct line-of-sight)

Several methods of moving the antennas have been suggested.
Anything that gets the antennas a better "view" out through the
glass will likely improve reception.

Be sure the length of the antenna rods are "tuned" to the operating
frequency. There are online resources to calculate what a 1/4
wave-length should for your channel(s). Using the antenna rods
at the wrong length has the potential of being almost worse
than no antenna at all.

There are also directional antennas that have been used to
improve reception at a distance. For example....

There are also antenna "splitter/amplifiers" which allow you
to use a pair of antennas for up to six separate receivers.
But those are typically used with higher-end systems because
the splitter/amps could cost as much as annother channel
of wireless mic.
