A "V" oriantation is practical and conveniant for receivers sitting on a
table facing the transmitter, particulary a handheld wireless.

The body pack transmitters are more likely to have vertical polerization
most of the time. Therefore a vertical receive antenna should provide the
mazimum signal strength.

I cant tell from the picture but if these units are screwed in to wood
rather than a metal rack rail adding a wire attached to anywhere on the
chassis of the receivers and letting it hang down will improve reception
by
improving the ground plane.
