Lighting for "Joseph"

by atb3185 <atb3185@[EMAIL PROTECTED] > Jan 28, 2008 at 09:16 PM

Hi there,

I've been elected to do the lighting for our upcoming school play,
Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat.

I'm on a tight budget, and looking to rent. My current plan is to
utilize 12 Ellipsoidals for facelighting and 18 Parcans for mood. The
mood lighting is where my question lies. I need to have the ability
to change the mood of the scene from a happy to a sad to a wonderous/
dreamy feeling. What color gel choices would you recommend to achieve
this? Not that it really matters, but I have 8 dimmers I can use for
all 18 PARS, I will be using twofers and threefers to double/triple up
on every dimmer.

Unfortunately, all our pars have to be on a single pipe hanging above
the middle of the stage. Any suggestions on creative placement to
achieve the maximum effect?

Also, has anyone lit "Joseph" before for a small production? If so,
would love to have a chat.

Thanks so much for your time.
