We use MKE2 Golds. The EXACT placement depends on the costume and
the actor, but mostly it gets clipped over an ear. There are "ear
clips" available, but our sound guy has been know to craft his
own out of coathangers and moleskin. The cable is dressed with
clear surgical tape.
Don't know if there's such a thing as a typical EQ.
