=46rom the scores I've seen, you're correct.

But I've an opinion on this: It's an aesthetic.  Songwriters then
believed in stating a point and then getting on with the show.  It's
one of my biggest complaints with today's tunesmiths, very few believe
in brevity.  In my last musical, the longest number lasted 3:20
(including a lot of dialogue in between verses); average length:
1:43.  In the Last Jason Robert Brown epic, there's no dialogue, the
shortest song is 3:36 and the average length is 4:43.  I often wonder
if he thinks he's paid by the note.
