It's a bit complicated.  The Acting Company did The Robber Bridegroom
as one of several shows in repertory.  Patti Lupone was nominated for
a Tony.  Then, the company decided to take The Robber Bridegroom back
to Broadway for a non-rep, 8 performances-a-week run.  Lupone was
asked to re-audition for Rosamund, the role that had already garnered
her a Tony nomination.  She chose, instead, to play the title
character in the new Stephen Schwartz musical, The Baker's Wife, but
this closed out of town.

So, the original Broadway cast recording of The Robber Bridegroom is
Patti-less.

A handful of members of the Broadway-bound Baker's Wife got together
to record some of the songs (ones that don't involve an ensemble), and
on THAT you can hear Lupone (at her finest, I think).

To confuse things further, Lupone also appeared in the next Schwartz
musical on Broadway, Working, but, since she had no solo in that show,
can't be heard on the cast album.
