I didn't say you had to admire her for this particular performance! I 
don't like this recording either, partly but not entirely because of 
Triplett, whose work I've enjoyed elsewhere (she's hilarious as Miss 
Berta in "Acorn Antiques: The Musical" - she more than holds her own 
against Julie Walters and Celia Imrie). John Barrowman was better the 
first time he played the role (he replaced Howard McGillin in the Elaine 
Paige production).

That's the one I tend to go for as well, though I don't like Ashleigh 
Sendin's Hope. The highlight of that recording, for me, is Kathryn 
Evans' "Buddy, Beware". Evans is one of those people who really should 
be a huge star but somehow isn't. She was brilliant in the title role in 
the first UK tour of "Evita", and she was equally brilliant as Lily 
Garland in "On the Twentieth Century" at the Bridewell. It would have 
been nice if Evans had replaced Paige when Paige left the London 
"Anything Goes", but she didn't (that was Louise Gold).
