Annie GYG (Re: TV tie-in to musicals: It's a Bird...)

Steve introduces three kids whose secrets are what they did for summer
vacation: the little girl (I mean little) was a pool shark, the teen boy
was a bullfighter (Imagine saying that on TV nowadays) and the small
boy, David Manning, was Jake in the Lincoln Center revival of Annie Get
Your Gun.

Actually he would continue the role in the show's Broadway theatre run
starting in September. The IBDb doesn't mention that this revival had
played the New York State theatre all summer before Broadway (apparently
actually *in* Lincoln Center) so all together it had a longer run than
I'd previously thought.

Then they showed David/Jake in a scene where dancers do a
military-formation gun-twirling thing to You Can't Get a Man With a Gun,
presumably for in front of the curtain during a scene change (a clue as
to how seriously overproduced this version of AGYG was), and Jake
watches for a while and then follows them and imitates their moves.
Mercifully this was the last black-and-white episode of I've Got a
Secret, so the number was slightly less oppressive than it might have
been in color (Remember Merm's I Got the Sun in the Morning on Ed
Sullivan on YouTube).

Former host Garry Moore came on and plugged his new variety show.
Wouldn't last long (up against Bonanza, as had been Judy) but they would
manage to fit in a one-hour version of High-Button Shoes.
