I always assumed that in TROUBLE IN TAHITI when the trio sings "su-bur-
bi-a" -- which uses the same notes as "New York, New York," it was a
Bernstein wink to the audience.

And Bernstein also incor****ated music from his PRELUDE, FUGUE AND
RIFFS into WONDERFUL TOWN -- the "wada wada...wada wada" motif in
"Conversation Piece," as well as another theme that was used in the
"Conquering New York" ballet.
