We haven't tried it with a short cable, but we did change cables to no
avail. If the errant lights are reset (at the dimmer), the next cue
works fine. Re-sending the current cue without resetting the dimmers
has no effect. If it were an intermittant DMX signal, I would expect a
re-send to work. Also, none of the cues, when originally sent, go awry.
It's only after they've been on that lights just start coming on at
random. No lights turn off at random. This is why I believe it is in
the dimmers themselves, and not the DMX signal.
