60th Anniversary of The Ed Sullivan Show

Today -- June 20 -- is the 60th anniversary of the debut of The Ed 
Sullivan Show, which in 1948 was called "Toast of the Town."

Ed Sullivan may have been Broadway's biggest booster.  He kept many 
productions (such as Camelot) alive when they might otherwise have 
faded, forgotten.
