ANUPAM KHER’S ACTOR PREPARES
Within the span of two years since it was established in 2005, Bollywood
actor Anupam Kher’s acting school christened Actor Prepares is branching
out. Following its booming success in Mumbai, where its ninth batch of
students is learning the thespian’s art, Kher opens a branch in Chandigarh
with its first batch beginning on June 1.
He also has plans to open franchised branches in Ahmedabad (August),
Benaras, Dubai, London and Los Angeles by 2008. “The entertainment
industry, particularly movie industry, is on the threshold of a massive
boom worldwide. This will create a huge demand for trained professionals,
particularly actors. So we are careful about the antecedents and
commitments of our franchisees,” says Kher.
The expert faculty is inspired by Kher’s personal involvement in the
workings of the school and the students’ performances, and encouraged to
give individual attention during the training period.
