Live video mixing

by sidbarret@[EMAIL PROTECTED] (Matthew Coffay) Nov 11, 2004 at 12:34 PM

Hey, so, I'm involved in this new indie hip-hop/electronic/rock, er,
band. And, we're looking to add some visuals to our live show.
Mainly, we want to throw in stuff that we've recorded ourselves with a
digital video camera--we were going to run this stuff out of a
computer into a cheap RGB projector. But, if we wanted to run some
live camera feeds off of the stage into the projector, what would be
the best approach? What kind of cameras should one use? Do I need
some kind of mixer to get multiple video feeds into the projector?
I'm pretty much completely new to this stuff. Also, we don't want the
images to be super high-quality or something--it would be best if they
were oddly colored, slightly grainy, etc. In other words, projecting
a crystal-clear image of ourselves onto a screen behind us wouldn't be
very...er...cool. Thanks.
